What Matters Most

Discernment Activity
God is calling for a prophetic people to emerge, drawn from the nations of the world, that is characterized by uncommon devotion to the compassion and peace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. Through divine grace and wisdom, this faith community has been given abundant gifts, resources, and opportunities to equip it to become such a people. Chief among these is the power of community in Christ expressed locally in distinctive fashions while upholding a unity of vision, foundational beliefs, and mission throughout the world.

My Tithing Plan
My Tithing Plan, a personal and confidential resource to assist disciples as they consider their tithing response is available for use in Australia, British Isles, Canada, and the United States. It can be used to intentionally plan contributions to Local and World Mission Tithes, and Community Tithes.
President Steve Veazey stated in his 2005 World Conference sermon, "Stewardship, discipleship, and mission cannot be separated." Principle two of A Disciple's Generous Response addresses the larger perspective of our discipleship: a disciple is faithful in response to Christ's ministry. This concept of faithful response is applicable to every aspect of our lives.
As disciples of Jesus Christ, our faithful financial response is reflected through our consistent annual giving to Mission Tithes. This is the key to funding the church locally and around the world. Principle four of A Disciple's Generous Response specifically addresses our financial response as disciples: a disciple shares generously through tithing so that others may experience God's generosity.
It is hoped that disciples in the Community of Christ will find My Tithing Plan useful as part of a spiritual process that acknowledges the generosity of God and leads to a tithing response. It can be updated periodically as income changes.

Downloadable PDF
Safety The spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of each person is of paramount importance. All activities will be age appropriate, planned with the best interests of the participants in mind, and aligned with church priorities and mission. Activities will be conducted in full compliance with church policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Blessing Activities will value and affirm the worth of all persons and promote ministries of peace and justice. Activities will provide opportunities for life-changing experiences and the formation of life-long relationships with God and Christ. Activities will assist persons in discovering, cultivating, and expressing their gifts and talents.
Mission Activities will promote the mission of the church and assist persons in discipleship formation. Activities inspire persons to share their testimony of the living Christ with others. People will be empowered to witness to others, experience spiritual growth, live according to Christian principles, and participate in the life of the Church.
