Greetings.

The First Presidency and the World Church Leadership Council called  
for an international gathering of women in 2009.  The intent was to  
promote the worship, learning, interaction, and missional leadership  
of the church’s women.

The desire to provide a gathering for international women continues to  
be a reality.  However, on review of economic concerns and choices of  
international events planned close to this event, it has been decided  
that it is in the best stewardship of the church to postpone the  
gathering. Consideration of this event will be given during the three- 
year period following the 2010 World Conference.

In 2009 and 2010, we encourage you to support several opportunities to  
study, worship, and fellowship with those from around the world. These  
opportunities include:

International Youth Forum (IYF)
IYF Bangkok: May 24-30; IYF Malawi: June 24-30; IYF Honduras: July  
4-11; IYF Independence, MO USA: July 21-24, 2009
SPECTACULAR—July 25–August 1
Peace Colloquy—October 23–25
World Conference—April 10–17, 2010

We thank God for the many ways in which the Holy Spirit is uniquely  
moving within every nation of the world. We look forward with  
anticipation to opportunities where we come together. May God bless
