The World Church has established a toll-free number for persons in the United States to call in the event that there is a disaster in their area. This is specifically useful in the case that it is necessary to evacuate and find shelter.

The person calling in will leave information concerning their whereabouts and safety, and local leaders will be able to check the message system to check on the location and welfare of members and friends of the church.

The call in number is 1-800-825-2806, extension 1212. Please remind members and friends to keep the information at hand in case of need. This disaster report-in number is the direct result a request for the International Headquarters to assist pastors and mission centers leaders in ascertaining that members and friends of the church are safe in the event of a disaster.

A person in the Presiding Bishopric Office will answer calls to the extension listed, when possible, and monitor messages left at other times, and will then make leaders in the field aware that persons have called in reporting on their whereabouts and well-being. This will allow leaders to maintain contact and respond to specific needs as they arise.

It is important that people have this information available, and that they know to call in when a disaster has happened or is imminent. For that reason it will be important to remind members and friends from to time of this contact and support.
